Non-Implant Body Jewelry

Glass
Good for use in healed piercings. Can be sterilized in an autoclave.
Care for Glass: Wash in warm water with mild soap. You may soak the jewelry for a few minutes as well. Rinse and carefully pat dry with a cloth. Store jewelry separately to avoid scratches. Long term wear can cause the glass to pit or scuff.
Jewelry Types: Plugs, Tunnels, Special Forms
Glass is a vibrant, durable, and highly biocompatible choice for healed piercings, perfect for adding flair to your collection. Most body jewelry is crafted from borosilicate glass, though some soda lime glass is used too. While generally inert, glass may leach materials or develop pitting and scuffs with heavy wear or cleaning over time. Available in a dazzling array of colors, shapes, and sizes, glass jewelry from Tribal Rites lets you express your style with confidence.

Silicone
Good for use in healed piercings. Can be sterilized in an autoclave.
Care for Silicone: Wash in warm water with mild soap. Rinse and carefully pat dry with a cloth. Pool chemicals may discolor silicone. Some of the thinner silicone pieces should be handled with care as they could tear.
Jewelry Types: Plugs, Tunnels, Retainers, Flesh Plugs
Silicone is a soft, flexible, and highly biocompatible material, making it a top pick for comfortable, easy-to-insert piercing jewelry. This durable synthetic polymer, widely used in medical implants, shampoos, shaving creams, and lubricants, offers excellent impact resistance, cushioning your piercing from bumps and jolts. Choose Tribal Rites' silicone jewelry for a vibrant, worry-free way to enhance your style.

PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition)
Good for use in healed piercings. Can be sterilized in an autoclave.
Care for PVD: Wash in warm water with mild soap. You may soak the jewelry for a few minutes as well. Rinse and carefully pat dry with a cloth. Be extra careful when cleaning jewelry with gemstones. Store jewelry separately to avoid scratches. PVD is a plating process and, eventually, you may see some chipping or wear of the top surface. This is exacerbated in oral piercings.
Jewelry Types: Rings, Barbells, Circular Barbells, Threaded, Ends
PVD, or Physical Vapor Deposition, is a cutting-edge coating process that applies a titanium compound to titanium or steel jewelry, creating a sleek, shiny black finish. All our glossy black jewelry at Tribal Rites features this highly biocompatible PVD coating, perfect for healed piercings. Sourced from Wildcat, a top European manufacturer with years of expertise, our blackline titanium jewelry ensures quality and durability. While each manufacturer’s process varies, we trust Wildcat’s proven method. Note that PVD coatings may chip or wear over time, so reserve these striking pieces for fully healed piercings and wear them with bold confidence.

Acrylic
Good for use in healed piercings. CANNOT be sterilized in an autoclave. Should not be used for stretching.
Care for Acrylic: Wash in warm water with mild soap. Do not use alcohol or harsh cleansers. Rinse and carefully pat dry with a cloth. Do not leave in direct sunlight or expose to high heat as it can warp and discolor. It is more fragile than metal and can crack or fracture if not handled properly.
Jewelry Types: Rings, Barbells, Circular Barbells, Threaded, Ends, Plugs, Tunnels
Acrylic is a hard non-porous plastic. It comes in a variety of colors and can be formed into many shapes. Acrylic is light weight and great for healed piercings. We find the surface to be sticky, and therefore washing the jewelry frequently is suggested. Be careful with threaded ends as threading them down too hard can strip the threads. Acrylic can be a great alternative when used and cared for properly.
